The IT industry's top annual accolades - IT Personality and Visionary CIO - are presented by the Institute of IT Professionals SA (IITPSA, previously CSSA), in association with ITWeb, the Gordon Institute of Business Science and Gartner Africa.

The IT Personality of the Year award, now in its 36th year, recognises a person who has made an outstanding impact on the South African IT industry, as well as a significant contribution to the IT profession over the past year.

Previous winners include Alan Knott-Craig, Andile Ngcaba, Mark Shuttleworth, Aleta Ling, Benjamin Mopathlane, Ivan Epstein, Mardia van der Walt-Korsten, Asher Bohbot and Rob Stokes.

Barry Dwolatzky, director of the JCSE, and Mteto Nyati, then Microsoft SA MD, were named joint winners last year.

The Visionary CIO Award, now in its seventh year, recognises an executive who has demonstrated leadership, innovation and exceptional practice in the use and impact of technology to support and grow business.
