Local Acronis distributor Synapsys reports a strong surge in demand for Acronis's cloud data protection services in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
"We're seeing a strong surge in demand for Acronis cloud-based backup," says Synapsys MD Peter French, "and the momentum is accelerating."
In the six months to end October 2017, Synapsys reports a 950% increase in the number of devices protected compared to the whole of 2016. "Acronis Backup Cloud bookings have grown by more than 600% year on year, and we've doubled the business in just the past three months," French says.

According to IDC, the global data protection and disaster recovery software market will grow to $8.1 billion by 2019. The South African market for cloud-based backup is projected to grow by over 300%.
