Data protection and information management software company Commvault, has appointed Christian Lang as vice president sales of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

According to the company, Lang will responsible for leading and driving the company's continued growth in EMEA.

Lang's immediate plan is to expand Commvault's customer base across all solution areas, with greater focus on key vertical sectors - primarily healthcare and doing business in "new ways with new types of partners".

"Whether it's in or outside the EU, clearly the recent Brexit vote has been significant for all. International organisations especially must make plans based on facts, not speculation or hyperbole, says Lang.

"What is for sure is that data growth, requiring cost-effective tools with the capability to deliver increased business value, will only increase and continued growth opportunities exist for us across the region."

Lang joins Commvault bringing 26 years' experience in the technology solutions industry with a strong track record of building software- and software-as-a-service-based IT businesses across Europe, says Commvault.

"I look forward to Christian bringing his proven expertise to supplement our already very successful EMEA team," said Ron Miiller, senior VP, worldwide sales at Commvault.

"Not only does he bring experience in key vertical sectors that are critical to EMEA expansion, but also a clear idea about the evolving requirements of our customer base, through multiple, strategic, channel and enterprise sales roles across the region."

Lang comes to Commvault from his most recent position as GM and VP automotive sales EMEA at IHS. Lang also held senior leadership positions for multi-nationals across EMEA, most notably over 13 years with Autodesk.

Commvault globally and in EMEA is an expanding organisation, says Lang. He says with the company's major competitors in internal upheaval (Dell/EMC and Veritas grappling with major internal restructuring processes) - there are great opportunities for the Commvault.
