Recurrent, Multiven partner

Recurrent Technologies, a provider of pre-owned Sun, Cisco and other networking hardware, today announced a comprehensive network maintenance and support services programme to clients, according to Emediawire.

Recurrent has formed an alliance with Multiven, a worldwide provider of multi-vendor IP network services.

Recurrent`s new maintenance and support programme includes hardware replacement, software support, and key online tools designed to maximise network utility at a cost substantially less than traditional service plans.

ADVA announces new CFO

ADVA Optical Networking has appointed Jaswir Singh as CFO, effective 7 November 2007, according to Emediawire.

Singh will take over the role of CFO from Andreas Rutsch, who has served in this position since 1999. Rutsch has accepted a new CFO role and will leave ADVA on 6 December 2007.

Singh will introduce the next stage of evolution to ADVA`s financial and commercial management processes. He will take over global responsibility for all finance, accounting, controlling, legal and commercial affairs, IT, investor relations and support for M&A activities.

Cisco gets thumbs up

Cisco Systems is becoming a formidable competitor in the metro edge and metro DWDM optical networking segments, largely due to its successful line of MSPP and MSTP products, says CertCities.

Cisco still isn`t a technology leader in all optical market categories, yet analysts give its optical vision high marks.

Christina Dietrich, senior analyst for optical infrastructure with consultancy Current Analysis, pointed to Cisco`s ONS 15310 as a representative case in point.
