Rheinmetall Denel Munition partners with nCoded Solutions to further improve planning, scheduling capabilities

Johannesburg, 20 Nov 2018

Rheinmetall Denel Munition (RDM) has appointed nCoded Solutions as the preferred supplier to implement an APS solution, which will enable them to manage their planning process seamlessly, while factoring in complex manufacturing processes.

As part of the appointment process, RDM carried out an assessment that looked at how a solution of this nature would be rolled out. At the back of its mind, RDM understood the complexities that come with implementations of this nature, especially if they are done at scale.

RDM's requirements included an APS solution that:

* Enables the planning department to schedule the sequential manufacturing operations while considering additional constraints such as labour, tooling and material order lead times;
* Provides the planning department with the daily schedules using RDM's ERP information;
* Runs different scenarios while making some trade-offs or changing priorities by aligning the plan according to production capacity; and
* Features software that can interact with other existing business IT systems without any difficulty.

The key was to evaluate all implementation techniques from the many APS solutions suppliers, with a view to selecting a supplier that could provide a clear roadmap of what the implementation would look like.

nCoded Solutions was able to provide an APS solution with a plan and schedule that is feasible, flexible and dynamic.

As a trusted production and supply chain planning consultancy, nCoded Solutions deploys world-leading systems and software to optimise production and supply chain planning processes for its clients.
