AST introduces BMC patrol products tested and running on Windows 2000

AST Enterprise Systems Management, a division of the AST Group, has announced the release of BMC Software`s new family of Windows 2000-ready PATROL products, custom designed to manage MicrosoftWindows NT and BackOffice. BMC worked closely with Microsoft to ensure tight integration between their management solutions and Windows 2000.

As a First Wave 2000 partner, with their PATROL products tested and running on Windows 2000, BMC is already assisting customers to manage the deployment of and transition to Windows 2000. Customers can immediately deploy BMC`s PATROL Management Suite of products for extensive management of Windows 2000 in their enterprise-computing environment.

As BackOffice and other NT-based application are deployed enterprise-wide, it is important that users have the ability to comprehensively and seamlessly manage these complex, distributed application environments. BMC`s solutions simplify the management of complex enterprise environments, which allows IT to efficiently and effectively deliver service to end-users.

As part of its NT customer commitment, BMC has introduced the following Windows NT-based solutions:

  • PATROL for Microsoft Windows NT Server, which ensures the availability of business-critical applications residing on the Windows NT Server environment

  • PATROL for Microsoft BackOffice Server, which ensures the availability of essential BackOffice applications such as Exchange and Internet Server. SQL Server Systems Management Server and SNA Server.

  • PATROL for Microsoft Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition pro-actively monitors and manages the Windows NT Server Enterprise Edition environment, including support for Microsoft Cluster Sever, Microsoft Transaction Server and Microsoft Message Queue Server.

  • PATROL for Microsoft Windows NT Server, Terminal Server Edition ensures the availability of Microsoft`s thin-client server environment.
