A new player in the SA software testing market

Johannesburg, 15 Apr 2019

The journey of growth and evolution at software and technology group Dynamic Technologies continues, as strategic changes at two of its group companies introduce a new player into the South African software testing space.

As from 1 March 2019, software development and testing business DVT's Software Testing Division has been trading as a standalone entity, known as Inspired Testing.

This structural change allows DVT to continue growing its reputation as an innovative and trusted software solutions company in South Africa, while Inspired Testing will take on the South African software quality assurance (SQA) market as a specialised SQA vendor. Inspired Testing is an existing brand in the UK market.

"The structural evolution of the Inspired Testing and DVT businesses will better align our solutions and services, enabling our teams to offer a more specialised boutique service," says Jacques Fouché, CEO, Inspired Testing. "By separating the brands, we provide our customers with highly focused solutions in both software development and software quality assurance, while maximising and harnessing the synergies between the two companies."

DVT will become a formal channel partner for Inspired Testing's wide range of services, including test automation, performance testing, quality assurance and consulting. Inspired Testing also runs an extensive internship programme. "We provide a solid platform from which young learners can grow their careers, develop their strengths and become confident in their skills," says Fouché.

DVT's extensive offering includes mobile app development, Web and custom development, agile consulting, business analysis, DevOps, UX/UI design, cloud application services and data analytics. AI is also a key focus area for DVT, including RPA (robotic process automation) through its partnership with UIPath, which makes use of software robots and AI 'workers' for the automation of business processes such as transaction processing, data manipulation and communication across multiple IT systems.

"Inspired Testing and DVT will operate as specialised SQA and custom software solutions businesses respectively, as we focus on deepening our specific areas of experience and knowledge," says Jaco van der Merwe, CEO, DVT.

Dynamic Technologies has 13 group companies with over 1 000 staff, and the Johannesburg arm of the business recently moved into new headquarters in Rosebank. Its group companies are DVT (including the DVT Academy), CloudSmiths, EventSmiths, Swarm, IndigoCubed, Blue Pencil SAP, Blue Pencil Creative, Emerald Consulting, Inspired Testing, DotModus, Dynamic DNA, Candice Clark Recruitment and DTH Services.

Inspired Testing has offices in London, Johannesburg, Cape Town and KwaZulu-Natal. DVT is based in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria and KwaZulu-Natal.
