Tech Terms defines an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) as "a company that produces hardware to be marketed under another company's brand name". Earlier this quarter, Tracker Connect was named the SA Qlik Master Reseller OEM Partner of the Year for 2017.

The SA Qlik Master Reseller Partner Awards Dinner was held in February 2018, at The Michelangelo Hotel, Sandton. SA Qlik's valued partners were treated to a three-course meal and entertainment by Gilan Gork and the Chili and Lime Afro-Jazz band.

According to SA Qlik's Managing Director, Jane Thomson: "OEM partnerships are critical to our business, enhancing business development and empowering us to better meet the needs of customers operating in niche areas. By combining the Qlik solution with our OEM partners' industry-specific products, customers overcome their unique business challenges. We are committed to changing the way businesses use and interact with their data, fostering the use of information as a truly strategic tool - and our partner relationships play are integral to achieving this goal."

OEM partners play a vital role in business intelligence (BI), ensuring a business's data analytics deliver reliable results that drive the business forward. With over 900 OEM partners across the globe, Qlik delivers an analytics platform that combines technology with data, offering a complete BI portfolio.

"Although Tracker has been a customer for many years, the partnership is relatively new. This makes this achievement even more praiseworthy, and one which must be celebrated," confirms Thomson. "Tracker successfully embedded the Qlik tool into its telematics system, and currently has over 400 000 licensed analytic subscribers across the public sector."

Wikus Combrinck, General Manager Business Intelligence Competency Centre at Tracker, attributes the award win to the Tracker team and the support it has received from both its own management and that of SA Qlik. To win the OEA Partner of the Year Award, the partner must meet specific performance requirements, showing a marked impact across the country and abroad.

While Tracker is exceedingly proud of this achievement, it is not resting on its laurels. "This is definitely an Award that we will strive to win again," concludes Combrinck. "We will continue to grow, and our Quality Assurance department has developed rigorous processes to ensure that every interaction with customers delivers real value. With more than 1 million active subscriptions and almost half a million licensed analytic subscribers our goal is to reach a million analytic subscribers (and beyond)."
