Softline Enterprise, About IT: partnering for success

Johannesburg, 07 Sep 2007

Softline Enterprise has recently expanded its reach into the market even further by welcoming a number of new channel partners on board.

One of these is leading IT infrastructure and service provider About IT. Ashley Ellington, MD of Softline Enterprise, explains that the partnership with About IT is particularly significant for Softline Enterprise.

"About IT is firmly established in South Africa as a leader in supplying customised IT products and services to companies and corporations spanning diverse industries. This makes it the ideal channel partner; providing the perfect home for our range of solutions."

Ellington explains that About IT is renowned for its understanding of and catering for the needs of IT users across a broad spectrum of markets. "We saw the potential in the company's comprehensive portfolio of clients and felt we could add value to their range of solutions with our products."

A sentiment echoed by Roux Crafford, director of About IT: "Softline Enterprise's range of business software products caters for different sized businesses. In this way, our partnership has allowed us to broaden our scope of offerings with tried-and-tested solutions that are recognised as leaders in the market."

He adds that Softline Enterprise's product range, consisting of Sage Line 500 and Sage 1000, provides flexible, feature-rich business management software solutions. This gives About IT, as channel partners, a new strategic advantage over its competitors. "For us, the definite draw-card with Softline Enterprise was its broad range of integrated applications spanning finance, distribution, manufacturing services, e-business, customer relationship management, retail solutions, time recording and billing.

"The solutions can be implemented within a very broad context: single user start-up organisations right the way through to large corporations, with multiple offices and several hundred concurrent users. The products thus cater for the business needs of entire organisations."

About IT has incorporated both Sage Line 500 and Sage 1000 into its range. Sage Line 500 will give its clients all the advantages of a traditional ERP solution, providing them with tight financial control, full cost visibility and powerful reporting tools. Sage 1000 will enable its clients to integrate front office CRM and back office ERP systems with a single business management software application.

Crafford explains that About IT's Solutions division already provides several customised solutions for customers using other Softline products, meaning the company is not limited to reselling. "About IT Solutions' products and services range from sales, all the way through to support, software development and report writing. We will now be able to provide a comprehensive service that incorporates the Softline Enterprise products too. This gives us greater selling power in the market."

Ellington adds that he looks forward to Softline Enterprise continuing to add value to About IT well into the future: "With About IT already doing exceptionally well in the market, we hope to add to the company's success by referring customers to them. In this way we will continue to prove our commitment to them and support them as our partners well into the future."
