Progressive local enterprises and leading local and international business agility experts will converge in Johannesburg next month for the first Business Agility Institute Africa conference designed to get the African continent up to speed with global business agility innovations.
Rex van Schalkwyk, Business Agility Solutionist speaking on behalf of Business Agility South Africa, says the international Business Agility Institute Conference will mark a turning point for local organisations grappling to become more agile and resilient in a fast-changing world.
“Now is the time to be bold and go agile – it’s a global conversation. But many organisations have not yet evolved in how to go about changing lanes and driving a culture shift within the business. This conference has been structured to illuminate the many forms of enterprise business agility to assist everyone from CEOs through to multiple corporate departments such as HR and middle management and to better understand and grasp where they are in their agility journey, and to listen to what everyone else is doing, and how they can embrace new and better ways of working.”
A major drawcard on the agenda is international agility expert Evan Leybourn, Founder and CEO of the Business Agility Institute and pioneer in the field of agile business management. Leybourn believes the only certainty in the world today is uncertainty, and notes: “It is only high-performing, adaptable and agile organisations that will leverage, lead and thrive in this ambiguous and unpredictable market. Business agility is about more than survival – it’s about thriving.”
Renowned futurist Graeme Codrington will outline what the future of work looks like; and experts will discuss topics including how to create enabling leaders, the difference between operational and strategic agility, and how to lead a transformation, in a two-day programme covering every aspect of business agility.
“Organisations are looking to restructure and repurpose people, organisations are wanting to make the workplace more innovative and exciting, but are they wondering – what tools do we have?” says Van Schalkwyk. “No matter where you are on the journey, the talks at the Business Agility Conference will raise questions about where you are as an organisation, what you need to jumpstart the thinking about, becoming and agile organisation.”
