Solit earns second Microsoft Gold Certification

Local e-business and enterprise software development company Solit has earned further recognition from Microsoft, attaining Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status for Collaborative Solutions.

This follows its recent appointment as Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for E-Commerce Solutions and makes it one of only three companies in South Africa to obtain two Microsoft Gold Certifications. This is in recognition of its competence in current Microsoft technologies and its proven track record of customer satisfaction.

The Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Programme provides a way for customers to identify companies that have proven commitment to and expertise in delivering Microsoft technologies, specifically those related to Microsoft SharePoint Portal 2001, Exchange 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000, which empower employees in an organisation with project collaboration capabilities and corporate portals.

Only the most skilled partners in specific solution areas are identified as Gold Certified, and they need to meet a high set of criteria, including enhanced certification and a portfolio of real-world customer references.

"Core to most business challenges today is developing a reliable system to round up, manage and use data within the organisation to allow better data tracking and dissemination from legacy data stores to new systems," says Rosa Garcia, GM of the Partner Programmes Group at Microsoft Corporation.

"Microsoft recognises that companies want a technology partner with experience in managing critical company data. Microsoft recognises Solit for demonstrated customer satisfaction with prior successes with these critical deployments. This distinction brings value to the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Programme and makes it clear that Solit has the skills and experience to provide high-quality collaborative solutions on Microsoft technology."

"Organisations today are widely dispersed and technologies change rapidly, creating volatile business environments," says Louis Nortje, Solit MD. "Collaboration is thus an essential aspect of any successful business strategy, enabling the sharing of information in a timeous and effective manner and ensuring the success and growth of a business.

"As a Microsoft Certified Partner, we have the knowledge, skills and commitment to implement solutions that meet business needs, helping companies to turn effective technology into competitive advantage."

Solit's Microsoft expertise is ably demonstrated by Tilos, the company's locally developed suite of collaborative applications built on Microsoft technology. It has cracked world markets in the US, Middle East and Europe, and can be combined to provide a total e-business solution. The product suite enables companies to consolidate, manage, analyse and process information across and outside of the enterprise, allowing for the development of completely Web-enabled business solutions.

"The endorsements from Microsoft highlight Solit's capability in delivering e-commerce and collaborative solutions," says Nortje. "We share the risk with our clients, from budget accountability to project completion timelines. Because we have solid experience in these technologies, time to market is minimised while return on investment in Microsoft technology is maximised.

"The fact that we have been certified in two Microsoft Gold Certified Partner categories greatly facilitates international marketing of Solit solutions."
