SAP, Sybase collaborate on mobile

SAP AG and Sybase will collaborate to develop a mobile platform based on open architecture that supports different operating systems and devices, reports Daily Markets.

Further, the two companies will develop a solution for corporate information management to provide customers with a broader range of database platforms for running SAP applications.

The companies say they will offer a comprehensive business analytics platform to support end-to-end functions from data origination, data storage and usage of data. The two companies will also jointly develop technology to enable accessing real-time data anywhere and at anytime.

Police service plans for EA

The directorate of information in the UK, part of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) has published its strategic plan for 2010/11, says Management Consultancy.

The document reveals six strategic themes, half of which aim to deliver ICT support and improvements to the wider MPS. The three IT-focused themes are improving policing information, developing the MPS enterprise architecture and delivering programmes and services.

In terms of improving policing information, the aim is to deliver secure and reliable information faster in order to "bring more offenders to justice, reduce risk to officers, and save the organisation both time and money."

EA firms to present at CloudCon II

Some of the best-known and biggest names in enterprise-calibre cloud computing will present at CloudCon II, an online event on 2 September, reveals idevnews.

Executives from IBM's Cast Iron Systems, SAP, Metastorm, Pervasive Software, OpSource and Informatica are scheduled to present technology overviews, case studies and even preview future editions and vision for how cloud is improving enterprise IT.
