@lantic accounts online

Johannesburg, 02 Mar 2010

Cloud-based computing and software as a service (Saas) has resulted in a number of online applications and services seeing the light. @lantic has announced that they now provide Pastel My Business Online as part of their cloud-based computing and Saas product offering aimed at the SME market.

Accounting over the Internet gives the user mobility, and extending it to mobile devices makes it even more portable.

“The product is extremely user friendly, intuitive as well as clean and uncluttered, making it a pleasure to use and ideal for our large SME customer base,” said @lantic marketing director, Dederick Venter. According to Venter “@lantic's SME customers can look forward to more products like this in 2010 and uptake of the latest technology will revolutionise their businesses. Sales consultants will no longer be tied to a desk as they can generate quotes and invoice from any location while accountants can now work from one location without the need to travel to customer's premises.”

“Very often, products become complicated by the sheer volume of features added to it over time - developing Pastel My Business Online from scratch gave us an opportunity to design it specifically for those business owners starting out with very little bookkeeping knowledge or just wanting a basic system,” said Softline Pastel managing director Steven Cohen.

“Pastel My Business Online is a multi-user system with dashboards, graphs and drill-downs to source transactions, and we believe that My Business will be a joy to use. In addition, we have integrated My Business to the iPhone and we'll port it to the BlackBerry and Windows Mobile platforms soon,” he said. @lantic provides the application on a monthly billing model, which makes it an extremely cost-effective solution without the need for large upfront cash outlay, which is especially difficult when starting a new business.
