Jared Molko, founder and CEO of Tellos, a company set out to improve mass job placement and skill development for the entry-level workforce, will be presenting the keynote address at ITWeb Artificial Intelligence 2019, to be held on 20 August 2019, at The Forum in Bryanston.

Molko has been working at the forefront of the tech industry since 2007. He worked at a slew of successful digital agencies and start-ups before joining Google, where he spent seven years, in a variety of roles across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. As employee number 11 of Google SA, he thrived in a pioneering environment where Google had yet to fully establish its presence on the African continent. After taking over YouTube for South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, he grew the South African market substantially and helped open up new markets in Kenya and Nigeria.

After three successful years in South Africa, he decided it was time to broaden his horizons, so he transferred to Paris to join the most prestigious product team in Europe, as the mobile video product lead for Google. He was tasked with growing mobile video revenues across the region, as well as training and educating the Google salesforce and external partners on upcoming trends

He has spoken on Google’s behalf at some of the industry’s most notable events, including Mobile World Conference and Las Vegas Global Conference, and has presented at TEDx on two occasions.

Molko recently returned to South Africa and is now focusing on understanding the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on people and business. He aims to uncover what we need to do to adapt both as individuals and organisations in order to remain relevant, and continue to create value in this new technological age. To do this, he draws on his in-depth knowledge of technology, psychology and ancient wisdom.

As the industry enters into a new technological age, he is on a mission to understand what AI is, what it is not, and what role we as human beings and organisations need to play in order to best navigate these very uncertain times.

Angela Mace, CRM and Events director at ITWeb, says: “Jared Molko has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share around AI, and we are delighted to have him on board, for this second annual event. He is one of the several experts from SA and overseas that will be sharing their knowledge at this year’s event,” says Angela Mace, CRM and events director of ITWeb.

According to her, many businesses are looking to AI, machine learning, and robotics to reduce operational costs, increase efficiency, grow revenue, boost security and improve the customer experience. “This year, the event is themed ‘Leveraging AI for business’, and will enable businesses who are interested in harnessing the incredible power of AI, to meet, share knowledge and hear about the latest technologies, solutions and trends.”
