Leading local infrastructure services management company, Network Support Services (NSS), has announced a partnership with San Francisco-based RiverSoft, a leading provider of IP (Internet Protocol) network management solutions, to allow them to offer RiverSoft technology solutions to the South African market. The alliance also marks NSS`s entrance into the RiverSoft Alliance Program, which is designed to meet the business needs of RiverSoft`s global network of partners.
RiverSoft software is designed to substantially improve IP network availability by building a topology of the network and then using this information to isolate the root-cause of network problems. The software discovers, recognises and adapts to changes in IP networks with minimal need for human intervention, allowing customers to manage networks more efficiently and effectively.

RiverSoft solutions are comprised of the Network Management Operating System (NMOS), a sophisticated platform that automatically discovers the configuration of the network and monitors it continuously, as well as a Fault Manager application that isolates the root-cause of network problems.

RiverSoft network management solutions will augment NSS`s other performance analysis and capacity planning software. NSS is also the South African partner for Visionael`s Network Knowledge Management solution (Visionael is also a member of the RiverSoft Alliance Program), NetIQ`s Chariot and Pegasus performance management solutions as well as Trinagy`s TREND performance reporting solution.
NSS delivers consolidated information about company infrastructure assets and capacity through the application of Visionael solutions. Net IQ`s Chariot provides the capability to model end-to-end application response times, while Pegasus is used for ongoing application response time and service level management. Trinagy`s TREND provides reporting on the current and future utilisation of infrastructures by trending the historical performance of the monitored elements. NSS also provides infrastructure outsourcing and consulting services.
