Unprecedented response to CA event

SA's own version of CA World, the IT Management Symposium Africa 2011, looks set to deliver on its promise to be the 'largest gathering of executives, business partners and IT leaders in SA'.

Around 1 000 delegates have registered for the event, which will include an expo and over 40 international and local speakers covering the latest trends in security, cloud computing, virtualisation, mainframes and service automation, among others.

To be staged at the Sandton Convention Centre on 2 and 3 February, the CA IT Management Symposium Africa 2011 is modelled on the international CA World conference and expo.

CA southern Africa managing director Gary Lawrence says it has been CA's dream to bring the event to SA.

“For more than 10 years, we have been taking local customers to CA world each year, and it is a truly mind-opening event. I have seen a direct correlation between customers that attend CA world and their relative maturity in terms of the various IT management disciplines.

“A recurring comment made by many of the CA world attendees is: 'I wish I could expose more of our organisation to the thinking and ideas I have been exposed to at CA world'.”

Lawrence indicates that the event may become a regular feature on SA's ICT calendar.

The event is now fully subscribed, but news and photographs from the symposium will be published on ITWeb and in iWeek magazine.
