FNB suffers system outage

Big four bank FNB this morning acknowledged having issues with its online and mobile banking platforms.

This after several customers took to social media to vent their frustrations about the outage.

One FNB customer tweeted: “The FNB App is still not working. @FNBSA @Rbjacobs still has not explained what is happening. It’s a Monday and people who have to work, Have no access to airtime/data/electricity. TRASH”.

Said another: “What the hell is going on with fnb?”

In a short statement, the bank says: “FNB is aware that some of its functionality is temporarily unavailable.

“Our IT teams are working to restore the affected functionality. We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”

However, the bank did not explain the cause of the issues and which “functionality” was affected.
