ITWeb is excited to welcome leading IT GRC professionals in South Africa to discuss IT governance best practices at the ninth annual ITWeb Governance, Risk and Compliance conference, set to take place at The Forum, Bryanston, on 20-21 February 2019. The overall theme for this year's event is: "Effective IT governance in the interconnected business world".
With this theme in mind, there will be presentations covering topics like cyber governance and how human behaviour impacts it, which will be presented by Aspen Pharmacare. There will be a topic on protecting IT assets when using cloud computing, presented by Old Mutual, and a case study by Telesure regarding integrated risk management. Other participating organisations who will be presenting at the conference are Standard Bank, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development, Department of International Relations and Cooperation, among others.
The market and the way businesses operate are changing due to industry 4.0. For this reason, IT professionals are no longer working in the background, their roles have become more important and their voices need to be heard on matters like IT governance, because digitisation and digital transformation is becoming part of the day-to-day running of all successful organisations.
Participants can expect to participate in panel discussions and hear insightful case studies, with numerous opportunities to network with industry peers. On display will also be products, services and software from event sponsors like Redstor, Kyocera and Thryve.
On the workshop day, delegates will be treated to two interactive and in-depth workshops. One will focus on IT governance frameworks and how to choose the most appropriate framework for your organisation. The second workshop will highlight how data has become one of the most important assets organisations own, how to govern data, and also how the related laws such a POPIA and GDPR affect organisations.
Throughout these two days, expert speakers will share their experiences and knowledge on methods to effectively govern IT in a changing business world.
