OKI MFP series targets SMEs

OKI Data Americas has rolled out a line of multifunction printers (MFP) designed with the small to medium enterprises (SME) or workgroup in mind, reports PrintComparison.

The MB400 MFP Series features three devices: the MB460, MB470 and MB480. All three models come standard with automatic duplexing, Ethernet networking, scan-to capabilities, and a 50-sheet ADF.

The MB460, is a three-in-one device offering base features including print speeds up to 30ppm, a 250-sheet paper tray, one-sheet manual paper feed, and a maximum monthly duty cycle up to 50 000 pages.

MyFax unveils Print-to-Fax Assistant

MyFax released MyFax Print-to-Fax Assistant, a printer driver that enables the transmission of faxes from Windows-based business applications that support standard print drivers, states TMCnet.

MyFax makes an Internet fax service used by individuals, small, medium and large businesses to send and receive faxes using existing e-mail accounts or the Web. The service eliminates the need for fax machines, fax servers and everything that goes with them like supplies, dedicated lines and long distance charges.

The company's free feature allows Windows XP, Vista and 7 customers to send faxes directly from within any application by choosing print and selecting MyFax.

Toshiba intros document management solutions

Toshiba America Business Solutions has unveiled three software solutions: deskSystem, deskRecord and deskForm “designed to improve document management, capture, workflow, and output for multifunction printer users,” says ConsumerElectronics.

The 'desk' software developed by Prism Software targets SMEs requiring affordable entry-level solutions.

“Part of the reason we designed a tiered strategy was to help our SME customers who had a need for software add-ons, but often felt that the options available in the marketplace were too advanced and thus too costly for their particular needs. This made it difficult for them to fully maximise productivity and efficiency within their offices,” says Joseph Contreras, director, product and solutions marketing, Toshiba.
