N-able Technologies posts record year of growth, outlines game plan for 2013

2012 success demonstrated by substantial N-able MSP partner growth rates worldwide, record-setting satisfaction ratings and industry awards.

Ottawa, Canada, 30 Jan 2013

N-able Technologies, the global leader in remote monitoring and management (RMM) and service automation software, today announced it exceeded its aggressive company growth expectations by 47%, and achieved record-high partner satisfaction and growth ratings in 2012. N-able CEO Gavin Garbutt also stated that, thanks to its managed service provider (MSP) partners, the industry innovator is well positioned to accelerate growth in 2013 and will continue to execute against its core vision of making N-able's partners the world's most successful MSPs.

“N-able made significant technology gains across the board in 2012 that directly and positively impacted the success of our MSP partners worldwide, elevated the discussions around managed services, and gave us, and our channel partners, a competitive edge that will grow even stronger in 2013,” says Garbutt.

One of the many metrics N-able uses to benchmark performance and measure success is the average growth percentage its MSP partners achieve year-over-year. In 2012, the number of clients managed by N-able partners grew an average of 44%, bringing the total number of small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) and enterprises (SMEs) managed by N-able's N-central RMM platform to more than 82 000. Another performance indicator tracked by N-able is number of devices managed by N-able's MSP partners, which increased by 67% in 2012.

N-able's President and COO JP Jauvin attributes much of the company's MSP partner growth to the sizable investments N-able makes year-over-year in business enablement, partner support and technical innovation.

In 2012, N-able doubled its Partner Development Specialist (PDS) team to assist its MSPs with sales and marketing programmes, as well as launched its industry-changing Automation Manager, proprietary MSP Technician's Runbook and Report Manager 4.0 with PSA Insight to allow MSPs to have the industry's best centralised reporting for RMM and professional services automation (PSA).

Additionally, N-able forged new technology alliances with Live VHD and Bitdefender and strengthened its relationships with CA Technologies and Ingram Micro to bring added value and managed service capabilities to its MSP partners. The company also welcomed more than 300 MSPs from competitive platforms in 2012, and earned nearly a dozen industry awards, including CRN's prestigious Tech Innovator Award, the MVP Award from Redmond Magazine and the All Star Award from ChannelPro SMB Magazine.

Looking ahead, Jauvin says N-able will continue to execute against its vision and stated roadmap by introducing advancements to N-central and Automation Manager that will proactively address mobile device management (MDM), as well hybrid IT environments that leverage both private and public clouds.

“N-able is the undisputed leader in MSP service automation because we've put our partners' needs first and invested in the technology, people and processes they require to successfully standardise, scale and automate their IT service delivery models,” says Jauvin. “One of our top priorities is to help MSPs dramatically increase internal productivity and profitability through IT automation and services excellence.”

BlueWave Computing, an Atlanta-based N-able MSP Elite partner, saved $1 million in engineering time and costs in 2012, thanks to the increased efficiencies and productivity gained from using N-central to automate time-consuming tasks.

“With up to 3 000 servers under management with N-central - and 18 000 total devices - we've used N-able's Automation Manager to schedule and automate routine maintenance tasks that had been taking our engineers up to two hours to perform for each server. Now, that same work takes only 10 minutes,” says Sean Vojtasko, executive vice-president, BlueWave Computing. “We're thrilled with the time savings, which has enabled us to re-deploy our team to focus on other aspects of the business.”

Continuing its momentum in 2013, N-able was recently named: “Best Channel Vendor” in the RMM category by Business Solutions Magazine, and the company's Senior Vice President and Channel Chief Mike Cullen was also recognised earlier this month as the most influential executive in the managed services industry by Channelnomics.

“It's been another banner year for N-able and our MSP partners,” concludes Garbutt. “We have high expectations for 2013 and will continue to work with our partners to exceed our goals, accelerate adoption of managed services worldwide and set new standards of excellence in all we do.”
