Identity-based, unified threat management company Cyberoam has signed local system integrator partnerships with Netology, FFG and System5.

According to Cyberoam, the partnerships stem from the security company's plans to boost local market penetration for network security in sub-Saharan Africa.

Lynton Lubbe, Cyberoam channel manager for sub-Saharan Africa, says there's a huge local demand for unified threat management security.

“The South African security market is growing. Cyberoam is looking to hire more local staff to strengthen our African presence,” he says.

The small and medium enterprise and education markets are Cyberoam's biggest focus in SA, adds Lubbe, noting that these are also very price-conscious markets.

“Cyberoam's channel strategy is to find more system integrators in SA and sell to end-users. We are constantly driving the channel in the local market and developing the Cyberoam brand in SA,” says Lubbe, adding that Cyberoam is presently hosting partner training programmes.

Darryl Maroun, Netology MD, says: “We are very excited about the partnership, and together with Cyberoam, we will go beyond the established markets to a much broader audience. This will help us consolidate our position as the preferred security choice of the market.”

According to Harish Chib, senior VP of new business development at Cyberoam, appointing the three system integrators solidifies the company's position in the region.
