Local ICT distributor Rectron has signed a distribution deal with Cradlepoint, a provider of cloud-delivered LTE and 5G-ready wireless edge solutions.

Aimed at “significantly expanding Cradlepoint’s channel presence in SA”, the deal will see Rectron provide Cradlepoint’s technology and services to resellers, system integrators, managed services providers, e-tailers and retailers across southern Africa.

Cradlepoint says it plans to further develop its channel presence in the region, and the agreement with Rectron will enable both companies to bring the benefits of LTE and 5G-ready wireless technologies to SMEs, enterprises and the public sector.

Part of the Mustek group, Rectron has regional branches that serve all nine provinces.  As fully functioning sales, warehouse and service operations, they will become an extension of Cradlepoint's sales and technical teams.

Rectron says its experts are available at each branch to provide immediate assistance to resellers and customers.

Jason Wells, VP and GM: Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Cradlepoint, says Rectron is ideally placed to help build his organisation’s network of partners and to service the growing base of customers in SA for LTE-based wireless edge solutions.

Spencer Chen, MD of Rectron,  says the partnership brings a strong value proposition to Rectron’s customer base.

“South African ICT resellers are being continuously challenged to evolve through creative thinking and continuous development,” adds Chen.

Founded in 2006, Cradlepoint  is a privately held company headquartered in Boise, Idaho, with a development centre in Silicon Valley and international offices across EMEA and Australia.  Its cloud-delivered wireless edge solutions for branch, mobile, and IoT networks are used by over 18 000 enterprise and government customers globally.
