"Welcome to the MVP Award Programme."
These are the words that recently greeted three members of the NBConsult team. Brian Reid, Warren du Toit and Nicolas Blank have all been re-awarded Microsoft MVP status for 2018.
Microsoft's way of saying thanks to valuable members of the MS community, the Most Valuable Professionals (MVP) programme acknowledges "technology experts who passionately share their knowledge with the community. They are always on the 'bleeding edge' and have an unstoppable urge to get their hands on new, exciting technologies. They have very deep knowledge of Microsoft products and services, while also being able to bring together diverse platforms, products and solutions, to solve real world problems."
The programme recognises both technical proficiencies, as well exceptional community leadership. These accolades mean that Brian, Warren and Nicolas are part of a group of 4 000 experts, located in over 90 countries, who have shown a willingness to use their knowledge and expertise to help others.
What makes their MVP status even more impressive is the fact that Microsoft MVPs need to earn the award each year. Should they not make enough of a valuable contribution to the community in a particular year, they run the risk of losing their MVP status for the following year. To put the longevity of NBConsult's three MVPs in context, they have been awarded a collective 19 years as part of the programme.
In recognition of their valuable contribution to the Microsoft community, Brian and Warren have also been chosen to speak at Microsoft Ignite 2018, Microsoft's premier global technical event being held in Orlando, Florida at the end of September.
