PM Web site adds courses

Project Management Training Online (www.pmtrainingonline.com) has added four online courses on "Managing Technical Professionals", according to PR Web.

The courses provide a wide range of interactive online training on the topic, and provide professionals with the opportunity to earn professional development units.

According to John Reiling, president of Project Management Training Online: "Project managers often find themselves in the position to manage technical professionals. Sometimes they came to their position based on their own superior technical skills, but there are also times when they brought little technical expertise to the position. Each case has its own unique challenges."

CA inserts new module

CA has added a new module to its CA Clarity Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tool range, designed to make it easier for firms to manage governance, risk and compliance (GRC), says VNUNet.

Gregor Petri, CA`s European director of product marketing, said the CA GRC manager allows organisations to manage compliance with 280 industry regulations through a standard framework.

A company could, therefore, automatically comply with such requirements as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and Cobit, said CA.

Meridian announces conference dates

Project management software provider, Meridian Systems, has announced the dates for its next user conference, to be held 29 April to 1 May 2008, according to CNNMoney.

User conference attendees will be able to meet with Meridian executives and technical staff and participate in a variety of project management software sessions, earn advanced product certifications, and attend new technology demonstrations.

"Our 2007 event experienced a sell-out crowd, and we expect to see more than 90% of attendees return in 2008, according to conference survey results," said Sue Watkins, Meridian director of marketing, and conference organiser.
