By 2021, the global app economy will be worth $6.3 trillion.

UK-headquartered BlueFinity International has signed a distribution agreement with local ICT distributor Axiz to bring BlueFinity's Evoke app development platform to SA and the African market.

Evoke is a rapid application development platform that allows the company's employees to cost-effectively design, develop and deploy business apps across multiple mobile and desktop devices.

The platform enables the creation of Web, hybrid and native apps, and integration and synchronisation with back-end systems and databases.

The partnership will enable Axiz to distribute Evoke to customers across the continent, as well as provide the support, development and implementation services associated with the development of business apps, according to Axiz.

"Axiz is a major player in the technology market in South and East Africa. We're delighted that Evoke will become their flagship app development solution," says Malcolm Carroll, director at BlueFinity International.

"Demand for mobile business apps is growing fast in the region and Evoke is the perfect, low code solution that will enable companies to effectively realise their app development ambitions. The partnership with Axiz will also ensure the product is supported by excellent levels of local support, training and implementation and development services."

Headquartered in SA, Axiz has a physical footprint in eight African countries, including Kenya, Namibia, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.

BlueFinity says the partnership brings with it the support of Axiz's experienced technology, development and sales teams, which will allow it to expand the already rapidly growing Evoke customer base into new markets.

The market demand for mobile and business apps globally is growing rapidly.

According to a study conducted by app analytics company Pyramid Research, by 2021, the global app economy will be worth $6.3 trillion, indicating a 380% increase from the $1.3 trillion app market in 2016.

This growth will be fuelled by new use cases, changing business models and technological innovation, according to the report.

BlueFinity and Axiz say they see huge potential for growth in the local app economy.

"Evoke's ability to generate solutions that can integrate both structured query language and multi-value databases (multi-dimensional database) into the same desktop and mobile app offers great possibilities to Axiz's clients. The multi-value market in SA, in particular, has been asking for a full function mobile business app development system for some time," notes Axiz.
