The ITWeb / VMware second annual cyber security survey is open for submissionsuntil the end of this week.

ITWeb Security Summit 2019

Eight international keynote speakers are heading to SA to join the local experts and share insights with SA's cyber security community. We have Graham Cluley, independent computer security expert and public speaker; Ofir Hason, CEO and co-founder of CyberGym; and Pete Herzog, MD of the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies. Now in its second year, the survey examines the current state of cyber security readiness in South Africa by getting input from the very people who are in charge of security operations in their organisation: chief information security officers (CISOs) and other high-level security professionals.

The survey is well on track to double last year's number of respondents, demonstrating the demand for local research data.

Last year, the survey revealed that more than three-quarters of respondents' organisations had been victims of impersonation and phishing, although fewer than 10% said actual penetration of the network occurred.

With the comparative data from last year's survey, the 2019 report will reveal how IT security postures, and budgets, have changed in the past 12 months.

A sneak preview of the results will be presented at ITWeb Security Summit 2019, to be held from 27 to 31 May at the Sandton Convention Centre. The full research report will be compiled by ITWeb and released in June. Industry-specific reports will be made exclusively available to survey respondents.
