Check Point Software Technologies Ltd, the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, announced it has appointed Niall Moynihan to country manager for SA. For the first time in its history, Check Point will be able to offer its channel and customers local management and support [local rep: VAD Africa].
"In nearly nine years at Check Point, Niall has played an integral role in supporting our business in the UK, Ireland, Nordics and SA. With this new focus, he will be in a position to grow our customer base and foster a close relationship with partners through a local presence," said Nick Lowe, Regional Director for Northern Europe and Benelux.
"Check Point is an innovative leader in network security solutions and I am privileged to have been part of its evolution over the last decade," said Moynihan.
"Check Point has realised that the business opportunities here and in the rest of Africa are immense, and that the region thus needs more direct attention. I am looking forward to working closer with our excellent channels in SA and I am excited at the opportunities that lie before us."
Local distribution partners for Check Point include Westcon and Value Added Distribution Africa (VAD Africa); local resellers include Business Connexion, Dimension Data, Information Security Architects (ISA) and Faritec.
Doros Hadjizenonos, MD of distributor VAD Africa, believes the timing is perfect. Hadjizenonos comments: "In SA the IT security market and in particular Check Point`s business is approaching critical mass. With Niall`s new focus on SA, we`ll have the right person, in the right place at the right time."
