Avaya outlines 2010 roadmap

Avaya is well positioned for unprecedented market opportunities in the communications landscape, reports The Standard.

The increased demand in countries like India and China would increase company's APAC revenue contribution a significant higher level of 13% to 15% of the total revenues, states Kevin Kennedy, president and CEO, Avaya.

"On a worldwide basis, we expect to drive almost 85% of business through channels from the present figure of 65% in next couple of years," he adds. The prime objective for the vendor is further retaining and growing Nortel channel partners through system integrators and solution provider alliances.

BroadSoft, Polycom offer hosted UC

Joining forces on an integrated communications platform, media phone and videoconferencing vendor Polycom has partnered with VOIP applications provider BroadSoft to provide a hosted unified communications system, says VON.com.

Known as V2Connect, the platform will unify voice and video on BroadSoft's BroadWorks application platform, using Polycom's Open Collaboration Network architecture and Polycom hardware.

“V2Connect provides one common feature set for voice and video terminals, along with a single numbering plan accessible via private dialling,” the companies said in a statement. “With V2Connect, a user can take a call from his or her mobile device, transfer it to a video call, and then escalate it to a multi-party conference call.”

Globe unveils hosted contact centre

Globe, a telecoms company in the Philippines, has unveiled its hosted contact centre (HCC) solution, which it says will enable enterprises to communicate more effectively with their customers and meet their demands for high service levels, states ABS-CBN News.

Offered through Globe's corporate arm, Globe Business, Globe HCC Solution provides enterprises an end-to-end solution that offers the full features of contact centre applications, with high capacity platform and highly secure infrastructure, but no capital expenditure required.

It is a pre-integrated, multi-channel contact centre platform that takes communication from any type of media, whether phone, e-mail, Web chat or voicemail, and routes them anywhere, either to the headquarters or a branch.
