Francotyp-Postalia (FP), a German-based provider of postage meters, inserting systems and related software/peripheral devices, inaugurated its wholly-owned South African subsidiary in Midrand yesterday.
Charmaine Rowlands, MD of FP South Africa, said FP already has an installed base of 3 500 systems in the country. With 60% market share in Germany, 30% in Europe and the status of the fastest growing business in its field in the US, FP is bullish about gaining the number one position in South Africa.
Ulrich Fehlauer, worldwide CEO of FP, says the company, which spends 12% of its R750 million revenue on R&D, plans to introduce a range of new products and technologies for IT-oriented customers in 1999.
