OKI Printing Solutions has announced the upcoming availability of two new dot matrix printers - the ML1120 and the ML1190. Both printers provide a tough and dependable solution for demanding business applications.
OKI Printing Solutions is a name that's synonymous with the manufacture of the most reliable dot matrix printers available. The release of the ML1120 and ML1190 reinforces this heritage and brings the lowest possible cost of ownership to departmental users.

OKI predicts they will find a natural home in the retail and back-office application space, supporting paper widths from 3- to 8.5-inches (the most commonly used stock-size in the retail POS and accounting markets).

The units' small footprint and recessed interfaces allow them to fit into even the tightest of spaces. This coupled with the fact that impact technology is well-known to deliver the lowest TCO and the ML1120 and ML1190 become obvious choices.
With print speeds in the region of 330 characters per second and a ribbon life of four million characters, the ML1120 and ML1190 also offer a fast and long-lasting print solution. Tests show the units' weigh in with an average mean time between failures of 10 000 hours - a figure that's 40% higher than the leading competitive brand.
In addition to excellent reliability and fast print speeds, the two new printers also make use of a USB interface, over and above the standard parallel and serial connectivity interfaces impact printers generally make use of.
The inclusion of this new interface offers the end-user greater flexibility and allays the need for proprietary interface cards to be utilised in today's newer PCs. The ML1120 and ML1190 now feature complete compatibility with notebooks and other computing devices that have done away with the legacy serial and parallel interfaces.
