Glotec`s acs-EMBRACE is Proudly South African

Johannesburg, 18 Mar 2003

JSE Securities Exchanged-listed Global Technology`s locally developed ERP software, acs-EMBRACE, has been accredited with Proudly South African status.

Viv Stefanski, acs-EMBRACE programme manager, says this is an honour for Global Technology as acs-EMBRACE, an enterprise-wide application for the manufacturing, distribution and accounting environments, is among the only solutions of its kind to have been developed locally. The application enhances communications and transaction flow with suppliers and customers through e-commerce, EDI, fax and e-mail, making e-business a reality.

"Most competitive products available locally are imported," says Stefanski. "acs-EMBRACE is 100% South African, and measures up to the best software of its kind available worldwide. Being able to display the Proudly South African logo on this product is testimony to Global Technology`s commitment to the economic development of our country."

Since ACS, the creator of the solution, was acquired by Global Technology, it has been sold with major success into Africa, where it has secured a number of contracts alongside the Globus core banking system.

Proudly South African is an initiative of the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) and is supported by business, labour, government and the community. The campaign promotes local companies, products and services that are helping to create jobs and economic growth in SA.

Stefanski says Global Technology endorses the principles of the Proudly South African campaign and is keen to be associated with the ongoing drive to promote the excellence of locally produced products and services. "This initiative assures consumers that companies and products carrying the Proudly South African symbol are of a high quality, socially responsible and supportive of the local economy."

Ray Leonard, CEO of Global Technology, says South Africans must take pride in their ability to deliver world-class products and services.

"By buying products that display the Proudly South African logo we can be confident that we are purchasing quality goods and services," Leonard says. "Not only does this give all South Africans the opportunity to help create jobs in our country, but it also means that we are helping to develop the local skills base. Global Technology is proud to be part of this initiative and we encourage our fellow citizens to help build our nation by buying local."
