NXT LVL will allow job-seekers to search and apply for jobs on Vodacom partner career sites, without using airtime or data.

Vodacom is partnering with South African career Web sites to offer a new zero-rated careers platform.

NXT LVL (pronounced 'next level') will enable job-seekers to browse job sites, upload their CVs and apply for available positions free of charge when accessing Vodacom partner career sites. The sites include: Careers24, PNet, JobMail, Career Jet, Giraffe, Career Junction, SA Learnerships and Indeed.

Vodacom says the cost of browsing the Internet is cited as a major stumbling block for local job-seekers.

"By introducing this platform, Vodacom is aiming to enable customers to access job sites without worrying about the cost and in turn make a meaningful contribution in addressing unemployment. From here onwards, job-seekers will be able to spend hours on the Internet looking for jobs free of charge," according to Jorge Mendes, Vodacom chief officer for consumer sales and distribution.

The unemployment rate for young people aged 15 to 34 was almost 37% in 2015, according to Statistics South Africa.

"For many of our customers, the NXT LVL career site will open up a new world of possibilities that makes finding a job more convenient and significantly more accessible," adds Mendes.

The NXT LVL career site forms part of a youth sub-brand within Vodacom which also gives easy access to education and career resources. NXT LVL offers free access to NXT LVL E-school for learners and NXT LVL Discover, Vodacom's graduate development programme.

NXT LVL can be accessed via the Vodacom Web site, by clicking on services and then on NXT LVL Careers.
