Tintri and IntelliFlash now both under the DDN umbrella with new acquisition

With IntelliFlash, DDN extends its market leadership in end-to-end data management solutions and enables enterprises to solve their most demanding data centre requirements.

Johannesburg, 10 Dec 2019

Following on from last year’s acquisition of Tintri, which provides products designed for enterprise cloud, virtual machines and containers, DataDirect Networks (DDN), a leading supplier of high-performance data management solutions for customers at scale, has recently announced the acquisition of IntelliFlash from Western Digital.

“The previous acquirement of Tintri, in late 2018, was designed to strengthen and expand DDN’s position as a leading storage provider for on-premises and hybrid cloud environments,” notes Marcel Fouché, networking and storage general manager at value-added distributor Networks Unlimited Africa, which distributes Tintri by DDN in South Africa.

“Tintri offers an extensive software suite for server virtualisation, DevOps and VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure), as well as excellent analytics, with predictive and efficient insight for virtualised environments and databases. Now, the acquisition of IntelliFlash last month [1] by parent company DDN strengthens the offering even further.”

The acquisition of IntelliFlash expands DDN’s portfolio of intelligent infrastructure offerings for the enterprise with best-in-class NVMe flash solutions and highly versatile hybrid storage arrays, backed by an industry-leading, AI-enabled, predictive analytics platform. With IntelliFlash, DDN extends its market leadership in end-to-end data management solutions and enables enterprises to solve their most demanding data centre requirements across AI, analytics, IOT, multicloud, and virtualised environments.

“With DDN’s enterprise business unit now combining IntelliFlash with Tintri’s market-leading virtualised storage offerings, as well as Nextenta’s IOT and telecoms offerings, this section is able to fully address the widest range of data management enterprise needs. Networks Unlimited Africa is proud to be consistently associated with world-leading best-of-breed solutions,” concludes Fouché.
