Turn innovative technology into intelligent actions at Innovation Forum 2014

Johannesburg, 09 Jun 2014

In today's digital business age, IT must play a leading role in business innovation. To achieve this, South African enterprises need a clear line of sight to business strategy, transparency into how IT supports the business, and budget for IT innovation.

Software AG South Africa's first annual technology showcase, Innovation Forum 2014, will equip enterprises to turn innovative technology into intelligent actions. This prestigious event will be held at Sandton Convention Centre on 17 June.

Many South African enterprises have embarked on journeys to turn data into information. Riaaz Jeena, Software AG South Africa's Sales Director, says the challenge now is what customers do with that information, and more importantly, how it can be turned into actions.

Jeena compares enterprises' historical information with looking in a car's rear-view mirror. "Enterprises want to look through the windscreen, which is real-time information. Intelligent business operations (IBO) combined with real-time analytics enable enterprises to see dangers ahead and avoid them. The technology also gives enterprises the ability to see future opportunities, and leverage them," states Jeena.

Jeena says the applications of IBO are vast and diverse. "Organisations have only started uncovering the problems it can solve," he concludes. In his presentation at Software AG SA's Innovation Forum 2014 event, Jeena will explain how IBO exposes the data of businesses as insights and enable intelligent actions. "With this technology, organisations can seize operational and revenue opportunities to execute intelligent actions at the right time."

Joining Jeena on the panel of speakers is Joerg Klueckmann, Head of Software AG's Enterprise BPM, and Conrad Langhammer, Director of Software AG's Global Business Consulting at ALFABET. In their joint session, Klueckmann and Langhammer will equip enterprises to overcome the challenges increasing digitisation poses. They will present Software AG's ARIS and ALFABET solutions and how these two forces combined will transform enterprises' existing IT infrastructures.

In Klueckmann's individual session, he will give delegates the tools to realise their business strategies and jump-start their journeys to becoming digital enterprises. He will introduce the Software AG Live solution, which addresses today's business cloud needs with unmatched speed, ease-of-use and fully supports social and mobile collaboration.

Langhammer will go into more depth on Software AG's ALFABET solution in his presentation. "Integrated IT portfolio management will provide delegates with insights into business strategies, transparency of change impacts and portfolio optimisation to free up budget for innovation projects," states Langhammer. "With ALFABET, organisations will be enabled to make IT the engine of innovation for enterprise transformation."

triVector, a Software AG partner and sponsor of Innovation Forum 2014, firmly supports Software AG's mission to transform enterprises' IT infrastructures with innovative technology. Dina Jacobs, triVector's Chief Executive Officer, states that the company's expertise in ARIS implementation and Software AG's product offering makes technology work for customers, resulting in viable returns on technology investments. "Our focus is to unlock business value for our customers, and collaboration with strategic solutions partners is key in this process. Our partnership of more than a decade with Software AG has proven successful in providing our customers with comprehensive and complete solutions, enabling them to achieve their business objectives and realise business strategies," says Jacobs.
