Agilocity brings real-world Scrum Master Certification to Africa
Agilocity is elated to be hosting the first Scaled Agile Framework Certified Scrum Master (SSM) course on 12 and 13 December 2016 in Johannesburg. The course is the first of its kind in Africa, and we invite you to join us to start your 2017 Scrum Master career on a high note.
For many years, the Certified Scrum Master training has been a perceived de facto standard for Scrum enthusiasts that wanted to receive recognition in their field. CSM Alumni however are often left with Agile blind spots, as the training merely scratches the surface on the depth and importance of this pivotal Agile role within the context of a wider enterprise.
In addition to teaching Scrum fundamentals, this course takes an in-depth look at the challenges of Scrum Masters in hybrid traditional/Agile environments, problems with Enterprise agility, getting the Lean message across and understanding the importance of the role of Scrum Master in the context of a larger enterprise.
The two-day course prepares Scrum Masters to take a leadership role in Enterprise Agile teams, work and plan with the PMO, to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment which is the primary enabler of organisational wide Agile alignment.
They will also learn the key components of scaled Agile development, how to participate and optimise the flow of value throughout the enterprise, how to facilitate and participate in successful sprint alignment across multiple teams, gain insights into managing corporate conflict and to enable high performance teams.
Upon passing the exam, students will receive the SAFe 4.0 Scrum Master (SSM) certification.
"As the demand for SAFe expertise accelerates globally, there is a growing focus on the Scrum Master and the critical role that person plays in a SAFe implementation," said Inbar Oren, SAFe Fellow and Product Owner for the SAFe 4.0 Scrum Master course. "To achieve optimal results for the business, Scrum Masters must be well-versed in SAFe practices and principles. This new course is the ideal entry point for people who are new to Scrum and SAFe, and the SSM credential is a must-have certification for Scrum Masters looking to boost their value in today's career marketplace."
"Hundreds of successful SAFe implementations have demonstrated the importance of the role of the Scrum Master in facilitating team and program success," said Dean Leffingwell, Chief Methodologist and creator of SAFe.
