BCMG chosen to gear-up Shoprite Checkers

Johannesburg, 01 Mar 2018

BCMG chosen to gear-up Shoprite Checkers' senior business analyst team with techniques to help them formulate business requirements from business objectives.

Multinational FMCG company Shoprite Checkers enrolled its seasoned business analyst team on a three-day Strategic Business Analysis training course. The curriculum, which focuses on a holistic approach to the investigation and improvement of business situation with a view to developing effective, feasible business solutions, was ideally suited to the development needs of the delegates who attended.

"Our business analysts, especially those more senior, need to be able to assist business in formulating and aligning strategy to greater company objectives.

BCMG's comprehensive training course teaches practical techniques which can be implemented and practised in the workplace," says Hendrina Groenewald, Knowledge and Development Lead.

"The business analysis profession has evolved from being a requirements translator to an increasingly intuitive role that supports business in doing better business. To continually ensure that Shoprite's Business Analysts add value to the organisation, we required training that delivered a contemporary learning approach on a level that would equip our business analysts with the techniques and skills needed in a challenging business environment," says Groenewald.

Joe Newbert, MD and lecturer of BCMG, says that "the first step in meeting Shoprite's training needs was understanding the vision that the Business Analysis Knowledge and Development team had within the greater workings of the organisation and the day-to-day challenges that business analysts were facing."

"The success of our business analysis training courses is aligning the learning objectives with the business objectives, to make the training more relevant," says Newbert.

BCMG does more than deliver typical training courses. Combining its industry insight and real-world experience it brings training to life, helping delegates grow their knowledge, skills and abilities to improve their application of business analysis.

According to Corrinne Brits, Lead Business Analyst at Shoprite Checkers, "the training has provided me with new concepts and interactive techniques to engage business and project stakeholders better".
