Galdon Data, part of the First Technology Group, a Level 2 BEE company, today announced that its Microsoft Gold Status for Unified Communications has been renewed for the sixth consecutive year.
"Being awarded this gold partner status for the sixth consecutive time underpins our credibility and experience as a leader in the unified communications market in South Africa," commented Fairoz Jaffer, Director of Galdon Data. "We are the only South African company with such a period of experience in this area and were the first to be certified for unified communications voice deployments, specifically using Microsoft technology.
"Achieving gold status is by no means an easy task as, for instance, a number of successful enterprise voice deployments for Lync technology needed to be completed and specifically five references were required in this regard," continued Jaffer. "Our references included Eurosteel, Mazars, Plantronics and Stellenbosch University, but in addition, we have also completed implementations in the Isle of Man, Singapore and Atlanta, USA.
"Other requirements that were necessary to achieve gold status were that the required number of personnel needed to be certified as having the necessary expertise, and, that these individuals also embraced new components, such as cloud, which have been now included in the certification criteria for the first time," concluded Jaffer. "We have undertaken some 100 deployments in the past few years and the market continues to grow rapidly, especially since voice communication is no longer based on traditional hardware PABXes. We are confident that we have the skills and expertise in place to handle the numerous opportunities going forward."
