In its continued drive to develop solutions and services, integrated ICT and telecommunications provider Vox has bundled many of its IT solutions into an integrated IT-as-a-service (ITAAS).

Vox says its ITAAS delivers infrastructure, application and managed services, irrespective of whether the business' strategy is in the cloud, onsite or a hybrid model.

"Our aim is to find flexible, value-driven products, services and solutions that enable companies to focus on their core business. We act as an extension of our customer's IT team, offering senior level expertise," says Craig Freer, executive head: Cloud| managed services at Vox.

Vox says its ITAAS offering includes fully managed infrastructure-as-a- service, platform-as-a-service, communication-as-a-service and security-as-a-service whilst the broad application portfolio includes digital communications, productivity, collaboration and enterprise resource planning.

"Vox understands the importance of technology to a business and that managing day-to-day tasks can be a distraction to strategic business objectives. Our aim is to become a turnkey partner to our customers through fibre, voice and their entire IT infrastructure and application portfolio."

Deloitte predicts by the end of 2018 worldwide spending on ITAAS will be reach $550 billion worldwide as more and more enterprises understand the benefits of a predictable, consumption-based expense model which can be easily scaled up or down to suit changing business needs.

It notes both traditional ownership IT model and the flexible consumption model will coexist for years but there is an ongoing shift towards the later. At current rates of growth, ITAAS will likely represent more than half of IT spending by 20221, it adds.

Meanwhile, Technavio says various benefits associated with the ITAAS model include the simplification and standardisation of products and services delivered by IT, reduced cost of consumption, increased IT efficiency, and improved financial transparency, which leads to an increase in business agility and flexibility at the same time.
