eScan, the world's leading anti-virus solution provider, has achieved Virus Bulletin Test Laboratory's prestigious 'VB100' award for its eScan Internet Security version 11 for Windows, its first award for the year 2012. The test was conducted on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit platform.
VB100% certifications are among the most widely recognised certifications within the industry that focus on virus detection rates, scanning speeds, as well as looking at how each product fares, when scanning set files that are known to be clean.
As with other security products, eScan Internet Security 11 for Windows was tested with a minimum of 1 000 replicated samples, representing each variant of the total size from the Wild List set that reached over 25 000 samples - a record in recent years.
eScan not only had an average CPU use and impact on set of tasks, but also uniformly excellent detection rates, with zero false positives, while missing nothing in the Wild List. eScan scored 100% in the On-demand test, On-access test and Clean-set test, while it had a stunning RAP of 96.5%, thus earning yet another VB100 award without any fuss.
Mornay Viljoen, Managing Director of eScan SA, said: “We are very proud to win the VB100 award for the 30th time. eScan Internet Security Suite for Windows has advanced technologies and is power packed to meet the challenges posed by not only the current generation of malware, but also by the next-generation ones. This award also highlights the fact that even after having strong detection rates, eScan uses very low resources and does not affect the system performance. Prestigious certifications like VB1OO inspire us to continue innovating with the best information security solutions that cater to the security needs of our customers.”
