Kyocera Document Solutions South Africa (KDZA) is thrilled to announce that Christiaan Pelser from Page Automation, a Kyocera Premier Partner, has been awarded first place in the 2018 Kyocera Service Awards in Europe.

The process begins with an online examination. This year saw over 2 600 participants in the online examination from the group's European operations. The top 10 in each region then attend the local sales company's on-site competition, which includes rigorous theory and practical exams. The regional winners then head off to compete in Europe for the top spot in the European Service Awards.

The prestigious awards recognise the dedication, skills, knowledge and outstanding technical abilities of our certified engineers, who competently deliver technical solutions to resolve a customer's technical queries on a daily basis.

Pelser captivated the judges with his excellent knowledge and expertise of service engineering. "Winning the European Kyocera Service Award is a notable and inspiring achievement, especially since there was such robust competition from across Europe," said Pelser.

The top three contenders from the European leg of the global competition get to go on an all-expenses paid trip to Vietnam and Japan in May 2019. The top three contenders of the Americas and Pacific attend as well.

"Service engineers are extremely important to our industry, not only to retain current customers, but to provide professional service to assist sales in gaining new business," says Paul Wendlandt, Customer Services Support Manager at KDZA.

This is the second time that KDZA's channel service engineers have achieved the first place in the European leg of the global service awards. In 2015, Gideon Fraser, who was at MPU Nelspruit at the time, was the first South African to achieve first place.

Over the 11 years that the awards have run globally, KDZA has had multiple winners in the top three places, and the company is very proud of the standard of service that South Africa offers Kyocera Customers.

"These awards are a true reflection of Kyocera's commitment to building a network of certified engineers and providing them with the products and solutions they need to deliver pre- and post-sales support for their clients," concluded Wendlandt.
