Record-breaking industry support for ITWeb's Security Summit 2018

Johannesburg, 09 May 2018

Thirteen is a lucky number for ITWeb's flagship Security Summit, as all sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities at the 13th annual cyber security gathering have sold out!

Africa's largest and most definitive information security event takes place from 21 to 25 May, at Vodacom World, in Midrand.

The event will bring together the nation's most influential information security leaders, as well as a range of notable international keynote speakers, to address the challenges of an ever-changing threat landscape.

"The 13th annual Security Summit is shaping up to be one of the most memorable events we've held to date," says Angela Mace, CRM and events director at ITWeb. "It features international cyber security gurus Mikko Hypponen, Jayson Street, Rodrigo Branco and April Wright, as well as a wide range of local experts.

"In fact, we have over 70 speakers across eight tracks. The five-day event will include thought-provoking discussions, ranging from hot topics and governance, to the legal and technical aspects of cyber security." The event will also feature four half-day workshops, as well as five two-day training courses.

In addition, the Security Summit is offering delegates the opportunity to break through the jargon in just one day, by hosting a "Back to basics: demystifying the jargon boot camp".

According to Mace, Security Summit 2018 attracts individuals from across the country, representing a variety of interests with the common goal of working towards a more cyber secure South Africa.

"Speakers will provide keen insight and best practices for the widest range of security topics, including threat intelligence, cloud security, IOT, AI, strategic planning, privacy and forensics."

"We are overwhelmed by the response we have had to this year's summit. It just goes to show that cyber security is a concern for all organisations, as it affects our very way of living and doing business. Every aspect of our society is at risk, at every level, and we plan to grow this event from strength to strength," she concludes.
