Citrix and Microsoft are collaborating on a broad range of technology integrations and programs to help customers implement cloud strategies, deploy digital workspaces and networking solutions in Microsoft Azure.

Citrix has also become a Microsoft Direct Cloud Service Provider (CSP), giving its customers an easier way to buy Citrix Workspace solutions with Microsoft 365 licensing and Azure capacity included, from the Azure Marketplace.

Through the partnership, customers will be able to move from purchase to production more quickly, and without having to manage multiple transactions. The combined Citrix and Microsoft solutions will also be available through other Microsoft service providers, who can customise, configure and maintain a complete solution for their customers.

The first joint cloud service to be delivered is desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) that is integrated with Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop. Citrix says it enables its customers to buy and provision a virtual desktop on Azure in a few hours.

Integrations across networking and analytics

Over and above the DaaS offering, Citrix says the collaboration will provide technology integrations across its networking and analytics services.

For any customer running workloads in Azure, using Office 365 or considering moving their virtual desktops to the cloud, Citrix claims it provides the only integrated solutions that will deliver high performance and reliability.

Citrix has also announced out of the box support for Azure DNS Private Zones, with its Application Delivery Controller solution that promises rapid resolution of customer domain names in Azure and quick look-up of apps and resources in Azure.

In addition, Citrix has been chosen as one of the first partners for the Azure DNS Private Zones.

Finally, Citrix and Microsoft say they recognise that the transition to cloud can be complex. For customers who need help with planning and executing the migration, they are enabling a select group of skilled partners via a Cloud Alliance initiative.
