Three international cyber security experts will be leading the 50+ speaker line-up at the 14th editon of ITWeb's Security Summit.
The annual gathering of the people in charge of SA's business data and infrastructure security is set for 23 - 24 May in Cape Town and 27 - 31 May 2019 in Johannesburg.
Graham Cluley, independent computer security expert
Graham Cluley is an award-winning security blogger, researcher, podcaster and public speaker.
Cluley has been a well-known figure in the computer security industry since the early 1990s when he worked as a programmer, writing the first ever version of Dr Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit for Windows. Since then, Cluley has held several senior roles in organisations including Sophos and McAfee.
A world-renowned speaker, Cluley has given talks about computer security for some of the world's largest companies, worked with law enforcement agencies on investigations into hacking groups, and regularly appears on TV and radio explaining computer security threats.
Cluley was inducted into the InfoSecurity Europe Hall of Fame in 2011.
Pete Herzog, co-founder and MD of ISECOM
Pete Herzog is co-founder and managing director of the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM), which researches and develops new solutions to complex security problems.
Herzog manages the research of all projects, including OSSTMM and Hacker Highschool. He created and now oversees maintenance of the ISECOM certifications for security testing and analysis, trust analysis and professional hacking.
Pukhraj Singh, security operations and threat intelligence practitioner
Cyber intelligence analyst Pukhraj Singh was instrumental in the setting up of the Indian government's cyber defence operations centre. Singh was laterally inducted into the government from the private sector after the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai in 2008. His role was multidisciplinary and covered geopolitical doctrine formulation to the brass tacks of cyber operations.
Singh also spent some time at Aadhaar, India's flagship biometric ID project as its first cyber security manager. Singh also had very brief stints in the private sector, working with Symantec's DeepSight, the industry's first threat intelligence team, and innovative American, Canadian and Israeli firms. He has spoken at a variety of national security fora and hacking conferences.
