OmniPlan for iPad simplifies PM

OmniPlan, a popular Mac-based project management application in its desktop version, is now available on the iPad, IDG Computerworld says.

OmniPlan for iPad, released from The Omni Group, is priced at $50. It syncs with and complements the company's $200 desktop software of the same name.

According to Tab Times, the OmniPlan iPad app allows workers to create projects, invite collaborators and send project updates to work colleagues, while timelines are thrown in to give a visual clue as to how certain projects are going.

Furthermore, the iPad app enables users to view a project's history, offers up alerts if there are any completion errors, and allows team leaders to assign project tasks to different teams of collaborators.

While OmniPlan for iPad integrates with its desktop counterpart, the app can function as a standalone solution, Cult of Mac notes.

It supports all the needed timeline, scheduling, resource planning and task management options. It also offers an automatic levelling feature that can automate task scheduling and optimise schedules for efficiency and to reduce downtime.
