Ellies, the listed company that provides television accessories such as aerials, has changed its CFO after Mike Levitt retired at the age of 66.

Levitt will be replaced by chartered accountant Irwin Lipworth, who has been group financial manager of Ellies since 2010, having initially become involved with the company as its auditor and reporting accountant in 2007 when Ellies listed on the JSE. Lipworth is 38.

Ellies says the "board looks forward to his success in this new role".

According to Ellies' Web site, Levitt and his brother established the clothing group, Goophee's, growing the operations to 14 branches before selling it as Smiley Blue in 1984.

After serving the Fintech Group for more than 13 years as divisional MD, he joined Ellies in 1997, starting as financial manager before being promoted to FD six months later.

"The board takes this opportunity to thank Mike for his contribution to the company over the past 18 years and wishes him well in his retirement."
