Reditron, an electronic security business, recently launched its new security camera brand called Rediview. The range of cutting-edge closed circuit television (CCTV) security cameras required an ERP solution that could facilitate and enhance the sales of the brand into the South African market. Reditron found the perfect solution in Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition.

Reditron, previously known as Norbain SA, is the leading supplier of CCTV, access control and related electronic security systems in South Africa. The company supplies an extensive range of security solutions from internationally acclaimed manufacturers. Reditron is the largest buyer of CCTV equipment in the world. The company also offers technical support and advice on product installations and system design, as well as on-site and hands-on technical training on its range of products. Reditron is based in Gauteng, with offices in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Nelspruit and Cape Town.

"We were looking for a solution that would enable our sales consultants countrywide to produce online quotations at current prices. The ability to manage the product warranty system without having to resort to product development or add-ons was imperative," says Reditron Operations Manager, Jacques du Plessis.

Reditron placed its trust in software solutions provider, Argon Business Solutions, to do the implementation of Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition. "The solution will enable Reditron to confidently market and sell their new product range throughout the country," says Argon Business Solutions Managing Director, Andy Cutler.

Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition is aimed at the growing business that requires a cost-effective ERP solution. "Standard Edition has nothing removed from it. The full core functionality of Sage ERP X3 is available, but is implemented using a predefined methodology," explains Cutler. "The client does, however, have the added option of expanding and enhancing their ERP solution as the company grows, by simply tapping into the existing features of Sage ERP X3, using minimal IT resources."

Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition provides a predefined, yet adaptable, implementation framework to customers who are interested in the deployment of an ERP solution within a reduced timeframe, utilising standard business processes.

One of the major challenges facing ERP solution providers today is the implementation of an ERP solution within a set timeframe and within the initial budget expectations, says Keith Fenner, Senior Vice-President of Sales for Africa at Softline Accpac, part of the Sage Group. "Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition is able to meet this challenge by offering the same fully functional ERP suite at a fraction of the cost," says Fenner.

"Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition, coupled with the experienced and professional implementation team from Argon Business Solutions, addressed all the requirements raised by Reditron, and we look forward to going live on the new system in February 2013," concludes Du Plessis.
