Managed services provider AppCentrix has appointed Musa Mahlaba as its business development executive for the public sector.

Having recently led public sector efforts at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Mahlaba brings more than 14 years of experience in ICT sales, market development and business development, with stints at major ICT vendors, including Cisco and Microsoft.

AppCentrix helps organisations transform their ICT into a strategic business function, to deliver value from their digital transformation initiatives.

According to a statement, Mahlaba’s responsibility will encompass contributing to the AppCentrix public sector go-to-market strategy, supporting customers and partners in the public sector across the AppCentrix core offerings, including the company’s flagship managed service, Smart ICT.

Smart ICT provides business performance management and monitoring, and is closely aligned to government compliance requirements and the drive for digitisation and the fourth industrial revolution.

AppCentrix COO Tito Pereira comments: “We are looking forward to having Musa Mahlaba lead our strategic growth initiatives in this area, including advancing the company’s diversity and inclusion, in SA and possibly further across other markets.”

With COVID-19 accelerating the need for digital transformation and the fourth industrial revolution for all South African citizens, business intelligence is increasingly important for government.

Enabling government employees and partners to work from home or anywhere has heightened the call for accurate and timely budget management and reporting, making real-time compliance and real-time cyber security of increasing importance, notes the company.

“AppCentrix brings intelligence to the fingertips of the ICT decision-makers, whilst allowing operations to excel towards service delivery. It is for this reason that I’m excited and look forward to joining this fully South African innovative and dynamic company,” says Mahlaba.

“AppCentrix’s service offerings are bound to translate into value for government customers in compliance, reduce disruption in cloud migrations, and mitigate risks in financial management. Our focus on enhancing performance and adding value for ICT operations positions us well in government’s centre of intelligence.”
