IT Salary Survey

ITWeb is hosting its 14th IT Salary Survey and is calling on South African IT professionals to participate.

The 2012 ITWeb / CareerWeb Salary Survey will run online for three weeks, from 25 September to 16 October. This year's survey differs from previous years in that it focuses exclusively on salary trends, which makes it quicker and easier to complete.

It no longer includes job satisfaction and career plan questions. These will be incorporated into a separate IT Job Satisfaction Survey.

Having gauged the IT industry's wellbeing and tracked local salary and career trends for a decade and a half, the survey is firmly established as the industry's only independent IT salaries reference guide.

An important feature of the survey is its large and credible sample, drawn from ITWeb's readership base of more than 80 000 monthly unique local readers and CareerWeb's user base of over 35 000 jobseekers per month. Just under 4 000 valid responses were received last year, and the goal is to attract an even bigger sample size this year.

Participation in the survey will enable IT employees to compare their salaries to the industry average and identify the most sought-after and best-paid IT skills.

The survey assists employers in setting market-related salaries and determining appropriate package structures, enabling them to make better-informed hiring decisions, attract and retain top IT skills, and track current and developing remuneration trends for the various job categories.

The detailed results will be published online, while a summary will appear in print as a special feature in ITWeb's iWeek magazine. Results will also appear in the annual IT Training Guide.

An advisory panel of leading remuneration, career management, recruitment and skills development specialists will provide valuable input on the survey questionnaire as well as expert commentary on the survey findings.

Participants automatically enter into a draw to win a Nespresso coffee machine. Click here to take the survey.
