The week's issue of the National Tender Bulletin shows the public sector maintaining the quieter pace set over the past few weeks.

Government departments offer little in the way of juicy new opportunities; however, the Department of Transport has extended the closing date for bids to design, build and operate an ICT hub to underpin South Africa's "transport family". The extension gives interested parties additional time to figure out how to meet the department's requirement that the considerable solution be delivered at no cost.

Meanwhile, corporate governance practices at the SABC, SAPO, Sentech, USAASA, USAF and Nemisa are to be scrutinised, says the Department of Communications. The 2011 advertisement for a service provider to conduct the independent evaluation has been awarded to SAB&T Chartered Accountants and will cost R885 757.
