Qatar unveils bilingual Web site

The Qatar National Project Management (QNPM) programme has launched the region's first bilingual project management Web site, says Gulf Times.

"The Web site provides access to an evolving set of resources, including a project life cycle, a series of templates and job aids that support project management activities," says Sheikh Nasser al-Thani, the Planning Council's technical co-ordination committee deputy chairman.

The QNPM initiative is supporting the leadership role of public services with powerful project management resources that help teams organise to deliver, he says.

eProject scores $12 million

eProject has raised an additional $12 million in venture capital financing, says Seattle PI. The financing was led by Bay Partners, a new eProject investor from Silicon Valley. It also included new funding from existing investor, Kennet Partners.

There was strong interest from venture capital firms, says Jeff Pancottine, eProject's chief executive. In part, that reflected interest in the model known as on-demand software, or software as a service, the report says

eProject competes with a variety of Web-based and traditional software programs, including Microsoft Project, for tracking timelines, documents, budgets and other elements of complicated business projects.

Primavera releases Inspire

Primavera Systems has made available Primavera Inspire, a solution that enables the easy exchange of information between Primavera and SAP, reports PR Newswire.

Primavera acquired the underlying technology, which is built on SAP's current NetWeaver platform and uses SAP's Exchange Infrastructure for data transition, from Larsen & Toubro Infotech, a SAP integrator company.

Primavera will further enlarge and advance Primavera Inspire with both its own development teams and the engineers at LTI who originally developed the technology. In addition, LTI will continue to implement and integrate combined SAP and Primavera solutions using Primavera Inspire.

Complete Project Management Office Handbook

The second edition of The Complete Project Management Office Handbook is now available, says the Institute of Supply Chain Management.

The handbook extends the concepts and considerations of modern project management into the realm of project management oversight, control, and support.

It also presents 20 functional models that can be used to guide deliberation and development of PMO operational capability.
